Eligibility for Membership

To be eligible for membership in the Estate Planning Council of Greater Victoria you must:

• Have your place of business within the City of Victoria BC
• Be recommended for membership by a current member
• Agree to abide by the Articles of Association of the council
• Belong to one of the following five groups:

1. Barristers and Solicitors who are active members of the Law Society
   of BC and who are engaged in the public practice of law
2. Chartered Accountants who are active members of the Institute of
   Chartered Accountants of BC and who are engaged in the public
   practice of accounting
3. Chartered Life Underwriters actively engaged in the marketing of life
   insurance and related products
4. Trust Company Representatives employed by a trust company
5. Individuals of professions or businesses involved in estate planning who in the opinion of the Executive Committee are engaged in
   estate planning and are able to subscribe to the objects of the Counciland would be compatible with the other members of the Council

Once approved as a member, you are expected to attend at least 50% of the meetings per year in order to keep your membership active.

Membership Limit

Membership in the Council is limited to a total of 125 active members, as well as Honourary and Life Members.  The Executive Council strives to have an inclusive number of members from each of the professional categories.

Your application must be accompanied by a recommendation for membership by a current member of the association. If you do not know a current member, please contact the Membership Chair to request an introduction.
